Local resident Peter Nora was presented a Good Neighbor Award Proclamation at the May 16, 2023 Scandia City Council meeting.
Peter was nominated by Heather Benson in recognition of Peter’s milestone of serving 40 years on the Scandia Fire and Rescue Department. Mayor Maefsky wrote in the proclamation of Peter’s qualities of being mindful, caring, helpful, hard-working, aware of community needs, and offering himself to respond when people are in need. Peter has willingly allowed employees in his Scandia business, PN Products who serve as firefighters and EMS workers, to leave work when they are called, enabling Scandia to have an expanded group of daytime firefighters.

A reception was held prior to the meeting for the community to show appreciation to Peter on his 40 years of firefighting and rescue service.
