Kids SkatingCOVID Changes:
Parents must provide all transportation and remain on site so students can warm up in cars if needed (the warming house is CLOSED). Face coverings REQUIRED. Skates and helmets are required, but not provided. 

Learn to Skate: K-6th Grade
The six-week Learn to Skate program by trained coach, Katy Herman, teaches children of different abilities recreational skating skills. Learn to Skate Beginners can stand on their own in skates but have little or infrequent skating experience. Beginners learn techniques to fall safely, forward march and forward skate, 2-foot and 1-foot glides, forward swizzles, backward wiggle, backward swizzles and 2-foot snowplow stop. Learn to Skate Advanced children work on backward stroking, back crossovers, t-stops and/or hockey stops, and mohawks.  

Register by December 31. Indicate beginner or advanced in the Program Name field.

Location:  Wojtowicz Skating Rink

Time:  3:50– 5:00 p.m.

Day:  Wednesdays, January 6 – February 10

Cost:  $65 ($70 after December 31), Min/Max Enrollment 5/20 for each class

Recreational Programs Scholarship funds are available for those with financial need.

 Pleasure Skating:  K-6th Grade
Have fun, enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise on Scandia’s big rink.  Parks & Recreation Committee member Dustin Hegland will be available to provide supervision and guidance.

Time:  3:50– 5:00 p.m.

Day:  Thursdays, January 7 – February 11

Cost:  $25 ($30 after December 31), Min/Max Enrollment 5/15
