It is time to retire the original playground at the Community Center to make room for a new ADA accessible playground and picnic area. Along with the new structures there will be rubberized play surfacing and ADA compliant wood fiber surfacing replacing the sand within the play area. Soon you will start to see the process of the border wall and play structure removal. After removing the equipment, City staff will begin prepping for the new ADA accessible sidewalk, picnic area and playground curbing. We hope to complete the concrete work this fall and construct the new structures in early Spring of 2023. Due to the age and condition of the play components, they will be recycled to hopefully become new playground materials again.
